Hi, Ivor, I have been browsing through your
site several times - getting to know your family and
your home town and returning to the old days of the Battle of Hastings. It was quite an experience!
I must also compliment you for
being so smart with your computer, making
this wonderful site. And corresponding with people in other countries.
Internet and e-mail are mostly used by young people here. Many people of my
generation would say they are too old to learn anything new. In general, I
admire what seems to be the Western approach to life - staying young and
interested in all spheres of life, no matter what your age is. Like you am still fascinated by the
opportunity of contacting people in remote places so easily. The most
wonderful thing to me is the psychological comfort accompanying such
international long-distance e-mail contacts, if you know what I mean. The
photos I have now seem rather out of place, or rather out of time. My latest
one (above) was made in July that was unusually hot in Moscow (up to + 32). I have been always interested in the English language and,
naturally, English
speakers and the life of your country. I am also very curious about everyday
life of different people in different countries. I have three lady internet
friends and a gentleman pen-pal in England. I was born in 1952 in Tver - a town on the Volga, 160 km from Moscow, 500
km from St Petersburg. Tver is an ancient town, it is older than Moscow. I now live 30 km
. North-East of Moscow, and according to Moscow standards, that is
a,very close distance - I have worked in Moscow as a translator/interpreter
for 20 years. Hope to hear from you soon Best
Wishes, Olga
