 Hello Ivor
Congratulations on a wonderful web site. As an ex-patriot, it brought tears to my eyes. Well done. When I check how to send photos, I'll send you some pictures of Christchurch.
It's a lovely city very English in many ways and known as the garden city just about everyone has a good garden. In February, which is our summer, garden competitions are held.
All good wishes to you from
Irene Godfrey  (nee Mitchell)

And here are the pictures she sent me from her Christchurch home

The photograph of Irene's large and wonderful family includes husband Charles, sons Allen, Brian and Andrew, daughter Maureen with son Luke and daughter Brittany. Then there is eldest son David and his wife Pam with their children. Also Andrew's children Michael and   his twin sisters Laura and Rebecca.
 If you think
they are a happy, good-looking family, look at this photo of "Granny" Irene when    in 1951, she was crowned "Hollington Carnival Queen" by the famous comedian Issy Bonn.     Irene was all smiles that day too, and I should know, because I took the photograph !

Well done Irene, and thanks for the photos of Christchurch, which unfortunately, due to copyright laws, I am unable to reproduce on the Internet.  Have a long and happy retirement,  and keep in touch.
