Dear Ivor,
Just
wanted to let you know that I think your website
is wonderful. I
used to go to Battle Abbey as a pupil in the Seventies.
I was reminded by the photographs that as Head of St.
Mary's House I had gone to St. Mary's Church to ring
the Bell, and I also played Guitar in front of
the Abbot's Hall fireplace. I
seem to remember sneaking out, and spending lots of
time drinking coffee at the Pilgrim's Rest . . . .
I
was also interested in your family's war history. My
mother was in the ATS and I was looking for more information
on Joyce, but nothing happened when I clicked on the
photo . . . (sorry
Andrea, I am still working on that one ! ) It's too bad those kitchen
gardens that sounded so wonderful where not there when
I was. Maybe they should re-introduce them to the School
for those interested in Horticultural pursuits.
Thanks
for the great tour.

Battle Abbey Reunion Site

Andrea Jones & Louise Noakes
This
site is for all those, who umpteen years later, are
wondering what happened to everyone else?! There has
got to be someone who remembers the fire-escape route
from the attics? Anyone remember the scratched
hands and endless blackberry pies? You do??
Then write us a message! This site
is also for anyone with an interest in or connection
with Battle Abbey. You will find a direct link
to the above Site on my Biography and Links Page.
