Some cuttings of pictures I took in Battle in the 1950's

Since publishing these pictures I have received this information about the Battle Carol Singers group, (on the left below) from

Audrey McAllan (nee Foot) who many of you will remember from the Battle Bookshop.

The singers were members of The Fellowship of St George - and Audrey lists them from left to right:

In the front row:  Archie Wiggins (in beret), Rev Francis Vere-Hodge Curate  (in cap), next two not known, then Virginia Knight and Daphne Martin, Lantern bearer not known, then another not known, followed by Eileen Foot and Betty Oliver and still in the front row another unknown on the right.

In the back row: Ivor Holland, Chris Poole, myself-Audrey Foot, Ann Groome, Gordon Thompsett, Maurice Thompsett and Gwyneth Russell (behind Betty Oliver)

Thankyou Audrey for your very useful contribution to this page.
