A formal launch of Victoria Seymour’s book,
“Letters from Lavender Cottage”,

took place at Victoria’s home on the 14
th November 2002, when Wendy Johnson, the owner of the wartime and post-war letters that inspired the book, was visiting Hastings, from Canada, with her husband Walter.

Wendy has followed the progress of the book closely and via email was able to contribute information, advice and support.  In spite of the marvels of the Internet, nothing equalled the feeling of achievement that came with
Wendy holding the completed book.

Also present were Joyce Brewer and Ivor White,
who made contributions to “Letters From Lavender Cottage” in the form of their teenage memories of WWII. “Dear Angelique”, who is central to the explanation of the background to the letters, visited the book launch.

Ivor also took the photographs.
