How the lodge looks today - this photo was taken by the then owner: Alan Lam

 

 

The following snaps were taken in the grounds of the cottage with a second-hand Brownie Box Camera in the latter half of the 1920's, the films were then developed and printed by my grandather in the outhouse/scullery.
Again, as there was no electricity, this also had to be done by candle or oil-light.
Tthe negatives no longer exist, but the condition of the prints made under those restrictions is quite remarkable as you will see.
