I am afraid that Ivor (my father) passed away 18th February 2008 aged 81.

I would like to express thanks from myself and my family for all messages of condolence in the guestbook.

In case you were wondering - I do not intend to close this website down.

Many thanks - Tim (his son)

The Home Guard
and
Remembrance Sunday 2004

Year
2002 marked the first appearance of the "Home Guard" at the Cenotaph for the annual Remembrance Sunday parade. Due to a serious illness I was unable to attend in 2004, but of course I was watching at home and was disappointed to note that the BBC once again failed to mention the Home Guard in their othrwise excellent TV coverage.

Michael Burkenshaw, nearest camera, led last year's contingent past the Cenotaph where the second official Home Guard wreath was laid in memory of absent friends.

Kevin, my son took these pictures of me in Horse Guards Parade in 2002, with the "Home Guard" wreath, which I later carried to the Cenotaph, and on the right Jimmy Perry, creator of the "Dad's Army" series laughing at one of my jokes while we waited at the entrance to Downing Street
for the signal to march off.
